Avs prospect Parker suspended by AHL
Tues. Oct. 27, 1998.
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Avalanche prospect Scott Parker of the Hershey Bears was suspended for seven game by the AHL on Monday for leaving the bench during Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Kentucky Thoroughblades.
Parker, 20, was the Avalanche's fourth first-round pick in the 1998 draft. The 6-4, 220-pound enforcer/right wing received a double fighting major and double game misconduct after leaving the bench during a fight between teammate Troy Crowder and Garrett Burnett of Kentucky. Burnett received a match penalty during the altercation for sucker-punching Crowder and drew a five-game suspension. Both teams were also fined $4,000.
